1982 Suzuki Katana 1100 (sz)

Post by BigKat1073 » Tue Nov 09, 2021 1:48 pm

Hi, I'm hoping someone here can help. I have an 1982 Katana 1100, the front master cylinder is leaking. I have tried for the last month to get a the front master cylinder rebuild kit but they are listed as being no longer available, I got the rear without any problems.

Does anyone know where I might get a rebuild kit or is it possible to make a kit from other bike seal kits. My Katana is original and I would prefer to stick with the original master cyclinder if possible.

Thanks,
Paschal

According to their website these guys can still order them.
Let me know if you want me to make a call, I'll order one from them too ;-)

It's faster to break than to repair.

Try these people if you cannot get a kit to fit

https://www.pastparts.co.uk/

They recovered a master cylinder for me that was pretty much Jolly Rogered. Been in use on Skruffy Kat since 2014.

I will add a second vote for Past Parts. They have rebuilt a whole brake system for an old four wheeled vehicle for me. They reline the master and wheel cylinders with stainless steel so they last a lot longer.

Nothing screams poor workmanship quite like wrinkles in your duct tape.

Thanks for the replies, I contacted goedhartmotoren they cannot get them, but they put me in contact with Hans van Wijk Motoren who had 1 left but someone took the actual seals out of the packet.

I will contact pastparts later
