Mine ran hot without any of the fairing in the way of air flow, fitted an oil cooler in the end. Put a standard fairing on & make it look like a proper Kat :)

That would be the easy option...and I can always swap the old kit back on in 15 mins if I want a change.

I'll take a couple of pics soon, but for now, here's one of my exotic, no-expense-spared spray booth

Been busyish, but not doing anything particularly interesting...

Sorting electrics - all work as far as I can tell. (indicators working now)

Made and fitted aluminium undertray (I'll take a pic tomorrow)

Glued, fibre-glassed, filled, sanded and almost painted bits of rough and broken fairing (see the bottom of this post of the piece in best condition!) to get it on the road and in order to re-learn how. Rattle-canning it as it's too cold in the garage and I don't have an extractor etc for proper spraying - that'll have to wait for the summer when I'll do a decent set of standard bodywork and the resincorse/gimbel stuff. This isn't not going to be a great job, but I am remembering a lot about what not to do!

Loads of little things like fuel lines, paddock stands, spacers, having keys made up, had a new resincorse screen made etc etc

'Allegedly' rode it up and down the road a week or so ago!

Needs taking off and polishing up, but it's an undertray.

Smaller panels done - not brilliantly, but I learnt along the way and considering they were in a terrible state before at least they'll look ok from a few feet away now.

Can't decided whether to use the expensive original stickers (right) or the blingy cheaper ones which actually stand out better against the white. I have another set of decent panels that I am going to spray properly (in red) when the weather warms up, so might keep the good ones. Got to do the tank now.

PS - anyone near me (Winchester) got a set of carb balancers I can borrow?

Are they the panels you got from me? Because if they are, they look pretty good! They were borderline scrap when I got them many moons ago, and had been horribly bodged!

These were actually worse than the ones I got from you. These ones looked like they had had the paint taken off them with an angle grinder and were a right mess. I am going to do the ones I got from you in red, I think. I'm still trying to work to how to take that mount thing off the orange tank, but I have checked it over and it isn't that bad at all externally - I might even leave the 'mount' in there and think of something I could put on it. The strange change to the bracket at the back will even work with a bit of filing and drilling.

Thanks Steve - I knew someone had offered before! I was doing a bit of late night internetting while the boss was watching Corrie last night, and decided to invest in a set as I presume I will need them more than once. If they're no good, or I am no good at using them (more likely) I'll come begging. Hope all's well. I would say see you soon, but who knows...
