Speedo advice needed

Post by Jonty » Fri Apr 21, 2023 9:56 pm

When I bought 1000 last summer rev meter needle broken.

Owner said he'd replace it....he glued it :(

I'd like to replace both needles in there, I've seen a guide to do it, but is it actually easy, also does anyone know how to get replacement needles? but also the outside rim is slightly disfigured, does anyone know how to get that looking good again?

Hmh, I seem to remember we had this dicussed several times. There are no replacements by suzuki, but there are very similar needles out there by certain car manufacturers. There are also sevice companies offering overhauls. Try the forum serch function for some more detailed answers.

Scooterspit~ do some...

got some to refurb my Thou clocks, but sent them through to FBJ for the Charity Kat. I guess they were good enough as I think they were used.

Failing that you are in the realms of Webike and Unicorn or Magical Racing.....

Also...

Mark Isaacs in South Africa had some made, no idea on cost - https://www.facebook.com/suzukikatana.southafrica

Shogun Mk2 cocks used similar (JohnR has said this) e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125623343625

Lex in Holland made a model of them in Fusion 360 and 3D printed them. He painted his but you can see used gloss so not quite right (but we'll forgive him that the smart arse! ). He replaced himself and reset the mileage ( kilometerage as in Holland? ) to zero!

I forgot had this info - I can use in a future Pride article.

If you don't want to do your self then somewhere like https://www.speedycables.com/ will do (unless you can persuade JohnR to do as i think he has done a few sets.

I've uploaded the Howto take apart the clocks info I have to the Members Area - viewtopic.php?f=45&t=9169

FFS the rev needle that previous owner said he would replace but in fact he just glued, has broken again :(

I'll ask John, but also check out speedy cables.

Thank you all!
