It depend on structure of the grease smudge. I would try petrol and purified kerosene first

i would use thinners as it is clear,petrol always leaves a stain.
to prevent this from happening again,tell the mrs to wipe her feet first or take her shoes off:lol:

couldnt help you. sue does all the cleaning so ive no expertese in these matters. but as its inside the car, id avoid the petrol method first! try that foaming carpet cleaner they sell on the telly. ive used upholdety cleaner to remove stains from kitchen worktops before now!
