front wheel spindle

Post by callyboy » Tue Jul 03, 2012 1:14 pm

Messing about with my "cough" Impulse and was looking at fitting some wheels that John sold me ages ago. The spindle from my Impulse seems to rattle around a bit inside the front new wheel. I think the spindle is 15mm. Anyone know what else might fit thats a bit bigger ? John tells me it a mk2 Impulse wheel, but is kinda generic throughout that time.

Think I need a 17mm

Thanks

Pete

Thanks for that Rob. Be easier to get a bigger spindle I thought.

Spindle still has to go thro' the fork bottoms tho Pete.

More work swapping bearings but a better result.

Obviously you need to do a bit of accurate diameter checking but it's the better way in this instance IMO.

Been looking at a front spindle diameter chart and most Suzuki's seem to have 15" spindles on the front. John told me these wheels were of a MK2 Impulse which seem to be the exception to the rule :( :(

Cheers for the offer mate. Will go and stare at it for a bit tomoz first. Then make up my mind.

Different set up on mk2 impulse to mk1 . The mk2 is like the 400 kat and 17mm at one end and threaded into fork at the other.

Hence why a lot of 400 Kats end up with 3 spoke wheels ala Impulse (Mk2), which is my plans with my hybrid ;)

Anyone know a good place for bearings. My local bike shop couldnt find the right size to fit. I need to measure the outside diameter i spose.
