stainless brake pistons.........

Post by harriskat » Fri Aug 02, 2013 6:15 am

So its buy more bike bits day. aka payday.

The POP project is coming along brilliant at the moment. but can only buy one thing at a time. So today i thought stainless steel brake pistons for the calipers. at £28.54 I thought not bad for a caliper. er no for a piston!!!!!!! so if my understanding is right which isnt hard, thats nearly £60 per caliper

looks like i will be trying to clean up the old ones and just put new seals in.

How can it cost £30 close as dammit for a little stainless brake piston and 2 rubber seals? but you can buy a battery for £25? some things just dont make sense

No ur completely right. I was just gonna reolace everything as they looked a bit tatty. Plus they had to come out for the powder coating. Looks like its just gonna be new seals. I could get hold of a whole front end for not much more. I just want the thing back on the road atm. End of august is my completion date.

I will never get a quote for one. As we speak I have my best mate colin on the job of making me a pimped one. He works as a working model maker. So has the abilities and access to relevant materials and tooling. Lazer etching has been mentioned and LEDs. And knowing him it wont be boring.

But thats a stupid amount of money for a tiny piece of plastic

slabbies started with an "F" in 85.... so from that they'll be... GSXR750F, G, or H from '85, '86, '87 respectively
