Forked forks !

Post by busatoon99 » Wed Apr 16, 2014 6:22 pm

Some of you may remember that i bought an old TDM 850 back in January to hack around on. It had hardly turned a wheel since then because ive either been working or it was lobbing it down with rain.

I managed to get out on it yesterday, all was good apart from the forks are shot and pumping oil onto the front discs   They are not pitted but there are several dimples just above the seals.

So good people of Katana land, im sure its possible to get them filled and rechromed but who would you recommend and roughly how much would it cost ? Or should i start trawling the net for a set from a breakers.

Cheers

Thanks bobster.

Do you know how much would it cost to get both legs done ? There is a pair on ebay at the moment for £160 delivered.

Thanks gents.

My pop up forks need doing too. I will send them off to Phillpots when funds permit as you all recommend their work. In the mean time i will try a couple of local breakers to see what the score is locally.

Cheers
