GS650 Restorer
GS650 Restorer
Hi Everyone.
I bought a ratty 650 Kat last year with the intention of getting it working, road legal and (slightly) more presentable, with the intention of using it as a winter hack.
Sacrilege you're all thinking, but it was a bit of a nail at the time and my restored 400four gets SORNed over winter.
My plans went out the window when I attempted to remove the exhaust header bolts. These were non standard bolts and made of cheese. After applying lots of heat,WD40, more heat, being very gentle etc five of the buggers sheared off.
Anyway, the engine had to come out so I could drill, tap and fit SS threaded rod. While the lump was out I had the frame etc powder coated, I painted the engine black, polished the outer casings and had all the paintwork done in black with grey SUZUKI decals on the tank.
I know it's non standard but I've already restored one bike back to bog standard and I wanted to do something different.
It's now MOT'd and on the road. I bought the bike to go on longer trips than is appropriate for the 400four so the trip to the fatherland looks on the cards.

I could print them out a few hundred times and post them, via Royal Mail, to all of the members.
