Re: 1100 engine rebuild info
Hi Mr P. Welcome aboard and well done on a great purchase. I saw the Kat round Kevs and did try to buy it. Its up there with one of the cleanest i've ever seen.
With regards to the top end i echo with H. Def get new genuine valve stem seals and the two front head bolts seals. Also replace the cam chain tensioner o'rings. However if your not strong mechanically i wouldn't do the job if i was you. If you put it together and snap a ring or have a nasty leak you will be gutted. I always build my own however if i was to pay someone it would be Roger Upperton, based in Leeds. Gary Grumpy based in Peterborough. Gary specialises in older Suzuki and has built more gsx1100 motors than anyone else i know.
Also use a genuine head gasket. Commitec are okay for the base gasket although they lower the comp a fraction. Debben do the gaskets. Robinsons foundry for seals etc.
Good luck

Update on the rebuild the bike has ended up with Wayne Little based in Warrington he has gone though it all and corrected a few bits, the barrels and head are all back on (genuine Suzuki head gasket used) he stripped all the head down replaced the valve stem seals and is going to get it up and running again later on this week/early doors next.
Will post up some new pictures tomorrow.

It looks like it's been vapour blasted by the previous owner.
