Back in the late 80's going between Lowestoft and Leicester Poly I got a flat tyre at Wisbech and at was cold, wet and I was in the RAC, I so was hoping for a life home in a warm cab. They sent a partner garage who said he had no metric tools with him (eh?) so after waiting about an hour I had to remove the wheel myself (as had tools) and he manged to find a bike shop open late to fix the puncture, so then had to refit the wheel on the side of the road and then ride home. Grrr.
