We have news! IT RUNS , IT STARTS , IT TICKS OVER :D (after a fashion but a tweak or two and....)
Today I took the carbs off again and put the cables on the right way round -doh! though didn't connect the pull back cable as it slowed the action down , why is it there?
Spent 3 hours balancing the carbs as they were not in the same county!

So I would like to thank Richiemouse for his ultrasonic cleaning ,Jimmy for the loan of his CDI , lil Steve for his advice. 8-)

It turns out that my cdi had gone down on the starter circuit, as had the replacement one I got.
This was not the original problem or indeed the problem with s*it service from proffessionals, No this was the reason it wouldn't start after fitting carbs after cleaning, just bad luck.
Anyway MOT tomorrow at 0830 , Tax at 0915 and work at 0930 hopefully home at 2100 hrs , under own steam and not 10.00 via SOS!

Well we must've have stubbled upon a method of making varible valve on the cheap, 'cos it starts on 3 , 4 cuts in but only 2 run below 4000 then all hell breaks out and we are away, so did 200 miles today mostly stressfull , but got a job to Chester , -M56 8-9,000 revs no problems.
On way back called in to a lil bike shop in wrexham and bought a 650, collect it on Saturday.
Should give me time to sort this . PLEASE , If you are listening up there I've ate me greens.!!!

So we are now looking at an ignition problem rather than a carb one?? Sounds like it so I guess swap coils and try that.
Or is it still a carb problem coming off idle jets and onto mains??

Thought of coils , will drag tank of at weekend , could be just a tweak with the carbs , but I ain't that lucky , BUT what a lovely bike to ride when it was in the power band and fine, jumped on the S2 today, christ it's long after the 400,.... and cornering! So getting the 400 sorted will have to happen.
For now though I'm getting this 650 from Wrexham to work and the other 2 will have to move on , no room or time.

Now lets see this from accountants view , paid £18.24 for a job to Chester, minus petrol cost and expenses £8.50 and cost of reciept for nuvver bike £650 total profit for trip ----------ooooooooooooooooooooh!

but is capital expeniture,

so needs to depreciate rather than total loss as costs

Depends on the accounting policy of the company. Although most will depreciate over useful life of asset.

I'll get my coat.
