Hi all,
just to let you know that for the moment we still believe EK9 can happen in August as planned.
The campsite is OK to go.
We have just been allowed to travel freely inside of France.
BUT we have a question mark with you guys : at the moment UK citizens must spend 2 weeks in quarantine if they travel to France (and same thing in the other direction, nice). I don't know when this silly rule will be lifted, so it could be an big issue.
If KOC UK can't come, we will cancel the event and plan it for 2021...
So : what is your opinion on the matter ? Should we go forward hoping you'll be free in August ? We would not want you to book trips for nothing. Also, can you all come ? I suppose some might have suffered a financial blow from the lock-out. Are you all OK ?
Waiting to hear from you guys, before confirming anything.
;)

i probably cant afford any holidays this year, sue lost her job and i got furloughed, plus we paid for georgie our daughters wedding in feb which was timely, coming just a few weeks before everything got postponed, its been an expensive year thus far so belts have to be tightened, even though sue is back in a job now its gonna be a bit spartan till the summer is over, so im not going to be able to attend even if there is a change in the quarantine rules.

Hi Alexandre matey .
Now then if we look at the issue of EK9 logically . It won't be just the UK club that will struggle, there must be Germans who will struggle for both financial reasons and time reasons because although we expect all to be hunky dory by August there will be a mad flurry of people booking time off work for holidays at the same time so getting the time you wanted won't be a given.
The 14 day quarantine is just a political chess game ...the B is still going on and the EU need to show us who's boss ....I mean where should we all quarantine? at the port when we arrive and join the migrants , who still live there!

So I can see numbers being down anyway, so personally I would say cancel EK for this year , but reschedule it for July ....please, August is a really sh*t month for us ....for the reasons above but also ferry fares are trebled in school holidays ....the same coming this way but less so as a UK IP address gives a higher price ...even before the B....t.
This is why the first EK in Normandy was in July.

Hi Guys,
too bad it's not as easy as we hoped !
We're thinking about having a meeting at the campsite not to leave them in the "merde", and to allow people who can't cancel their bookings to have some Katana fun in a smaller scale (no music band, no gourmet menu... and higher proportion of French people ;-)
Will check if July 2021 is doable for EK9"+".
I'll let you know ASAP.
Cheers and keep the faith !!!
