Re: Just joined and hoping to stay around.
Well lets face every katana was an import they all started in Japan!!!!
Don't believe the dross the magazines churn out re; imports, espiecally 80's bikes , apart from clocks there was virtually no difference, and 30 years on anything that was different is now changed anyway.
As for main imports being 750/1100 ....not so, many many 550 came in from Italy 650 from Japan,
In fact the only UK kat I have was an official grey anyway the other 6 are from various markets.
Shame about not wanting an import as there is 650 jap market for sale in the members area.

No there is a wider part of this website open to paid up members of the club, I realise you are new to us , but fee paying members have access to more sections as well as discounts and a newsletter every 1/4.
Some bikes are advertised to members first.
And remember a Kat is for life, not just for polishing.

Re: Just joined and hoping to stay around.
You will come to realise that our press are pretty much off the mark with regards to katanas.
The original as in first katana was the 650, followed by the 1100 and the 1000.
However everywhere else in the world got a 750 S1 then S2 at this time. . Now these models are the same as the 1100 , indeed the frames are the same so is the body kit. Just a few mounts different.
The 750 you refer to I believe is the pop up or S3, which was later and only in limited numbers in the UK ,however we got some grey imports in the early mid nineties, along with other the "proper"750 from around the globe, hence the confusion probably.
