Is it ok to wipe them down with white spirit before painting my wheels? or should i use thinners or something?

I'd say thinners was better myself Pete.

They need to be grease, oil, dirt and dust free so anything that will 'flash' off and not leave a residue.

Hi and sorry for keeping silence for a long period:) What exact method of painting r u going to use? Due to the fact that the motorcycle wheels highly susceptible to corrosive substances, the most suitable method is powder coating.

Sergio, hi there, long time etc. How are you?

With regard to Pete's wheels, if you look at the 'Pete's pop-up assembly' thread in the project section you'll see the results.
