new member with 250cc kat
hi, finally got a 250cc katana after a 21 year wait! I've owned a Kawasaki kr1 from new (1989) but in 1993 I saw a brand new jap import 250 katana in a shop in woking called pocket rockets was going to sell my then four year old kr1 to get one but doubts about spares availability and being turned down by a few insurance companies put me off, but three weeks ago I was at box hill in surrey and I saw a 400cc katana there and chatted to the owner, when I got home I googled 'katanas for sale' and this 250 turned up, its taken me two solid weeks to spruce it up, I have the original piggyback springs but they need rebuilding, but two tubes of solvol and two cans of mr sheen later its looking quite tasty, got a shock on the first ride 'cos I've not ridden a four stroke bike since 1983, especially one that redlines at 15500 rpm

Looks good example there, well done. Ride it often and rev it every time, they don't take kindly to standing about. Your right 15000 on a 4 stroke is against any mechanical sympathy you may have believe, but needs must!
Welcome aboard.

Thanks, when I picked the bike up it was unrecognisable to how it looks now, managed to get some bargains on e-bay, like a set of mirrors for £8
and a complete exhaust system for £80
still having fun riding at 40mph with 10,000 rpm on the tacho
going to take it to Suzuki day at the ace café on 22nd June , weather permitting
