Any ideas ?
Hello there - my name is Russ and I am an addict !
I've got my hands on a 1100 -UK 1981 silver, standard except for oil cooler and Yoshi take off,Yoshi cams ( I presume POPY means Pops Yoshimura in 80's terminology),VM33 carbs and MotoGP yoshi style exhaust.Maybe other mods but short of lifting the head off who knows. MOT'd, taxed and on the road (they seem a bit heavier than I remember) but then the bike's old and I'm 20 years older than I was when I had my last one !
When I say I'm an addict I mean that I seem to collect stuff - oldish bikes, old 50/60's VW's, pinball machines, space invaders etc. Normally what's called retro stuff nowadays.
Anyway I'll probably have lots of questions for you experts on here like what's needed to put the bike back to standard (only joking).
I spoke to Suzuki UK who said that for £80 or so I could get a "birth certificate" - anybody know if it's worth it to get some history ? Someone down the pub (font of all knowledge - I know) said it may be a promotional special but in my mind it probably belonged to a lunatic speed merchant back in the day.
A few pics on Google drive

Thanks for the comments
At least the picture links worked ! Even my Internet connection is retro - tried photobucket but 1 picture a week upload is rediculous.
Has also got the Yoshi covers on which are not that common I believe.

Re: Any ideas ?
Hi there nice machine there chap! I wouldn't pay the £80 to Suzuki myself as they don't hold chassis numbers , so really would only check websites in Japan really.
The most likely scenario is someone spent loads importing bits from Japan.
What are the letters on the reg Ie VRM ......X, WITH THIS INFO I can gauge where it originated for you.
Oh and welcome aboard.

Re: Any ideas ?
I'll dig out the logbook and get the numbers to you - thanks Fossie.
It would be good to get any info possible - I won't be selling this one that's for sure !
I suppose that a small membership fee will be requested from me soon
