Puncture Repair Kit

Post by craik » Sun Nov 26, 2017 12:14 pm

Hope it's alright to post this here. I have no affiliation with the product.
I'm sure everyone's been through the experience of checking your tyres and your heart drops when you see a nail in it and the trouble that will involve.
Sometimes, if the hole was near the edge of the tyre, it was deemed unfixable and a new tyre was required, even with good tread left on the tyre.
Recently I've been fixing punctures myself using a repair kit called 'Crafty Plugger' (Google it) which I thought might be of interest to other members.
It doesn't require tyre removal and takes literally about 5 minutes to patch a tyre just using a small supplied threaded screwdriver and repair cord. So far I've used it for three punctures and they've all lasted the life of the tyre, one even lasting 2 years.

I did a review in the pride some years back, about this kind of kit.
They are now sold by wemoto for £8.99 and it includes 3x co2 canisters to get you to an air line.

I get at least 2 punctures in every rear tyre on my work bike which equates to 6 weeks.
The repair takes 5 mins and back on th road .

Like you I really don't see any excuse now a days to be sitting by the road side waiting for a van to either load you on of say can't repair a bike tyre mate.
