Well, it is a Kat…….

……. Got a call the other day to go and assist in the disassembly of my mate’s green Kat.

Required the application of the rattle gun and a 32mm socket to shift the front sprocket nut.

Here it is at “The Goat” rally…..

Unfortunately due to the websites size restriction I can’t post a couple more photos of it coming apart

Unfortunately, I doubt it. The Kat is coming to bits in order to resolve a number of issues. Drew has owned it for about 20 years (maybe more) and it has been a daily rider, commuter, Euro tourer and trackday machine.

As he says it has a number of mods/repairs that were done over the years to the standard of the time (skill/resources) and finally succumbed to the Reg/Rec + Alternator fail. Prior to his ownership it acquired the colour scheme and a properly bodged electrical set up! I think it will retain the colours though :D

The frame will need re-coating and a couple of corrosion repairs similar to Gary Hurds Tiger Kat.

The engine is coming apart to deal with scabby cases and some new seals. It's a GS75X originally although in the past it's been attended to so on it's last Dyno run a few years ago it was producing as much as a good GS1000. (No longer a 750 and a ported head)

Drew has a couple of classic trackday events in August so not able to turn up for EK10.
