Is it a Katana?

It's definitely in the "Oooh, I like that that" category.

Needs to have a bit of TLC but turn up at yer local bike nite, and enjoy!

In NO way is a Katana ..no part of it looks like one .. The Italians took a perfectly good motorcycle and cloaked it in heavy plastic /fibreglass ..moved all the bits that were where there were accessible ...made it even more uncomfortable

NO!!

Bimota did not just take a Katana and cloaked it in plastiks. That's what Speer or Gimbel did. And I seem to remember there was a likewise Italian customizer, too. They just took the bike and put on different clothes. Bimota took just the engine and built their own bike around it. In principle not different to other trick frame building companies like Jung, Martin, Moko, you name it.

So, in referrence to the topic, no Katana.

Exactly custom bespoke frame and bodywork……
They have since this since the 70’s firstly Race only and then gradually limited number road bikes

Only in the latest incarnation majority owned by Kawasaki have they started to simply ‘dress’ the original bike
