For sale or not for sale that is the question!

Post by uber pikey » Thu Dec 01, 2011 8:45 pm

Taken from another site that I am often in.

I have had a report of a potential scammer operating on forums such as ours. A little research suggests there may be something in it............ SO BE CAREFUL.

This guy contacted one of our members by email from the edress the member had put in their post.

He said he had some parts our member had advertised for and wanted payment by Western Union or money gram before sending. Gave an address in the west country. When they said they could collect he suddenly lived in Ireland.

The name he was using was Mark Beaton.

Can't seem to contact him now?

Our member ran a mile and so no harm done - and perhaps there would have been no problem BUT!!

We strongly recommend that you thoroughly check out anyone you are buying from (or selling to). Make sure you have a proper name and address for them. Agree in writing what the deal is and preferably pay any money into a bank account. If you can collect or meet up so you can see before you pay that's got to be the best bet!

If Mr.Beaton would like to put the record straight - contact us as soon as you like.

never ever ever trust a western union payment. theyre dodgy as fuck, and anyone in their right mind will know this already. i dount that any honest buyer in the uk will be using western union anyhow. so just avoid it. i use paypal or if i must a bank transfer or cheque
