He said "TAKE THE AIR FILTER OUT, NOT BOX OFF ,"
either way as he said 3 is fixed adjust 2 to it and set 1 and 4 slightly higher. :geek:

Oh and if you'd just said Yes I'd have sent it down the tool to fit the adjusters, with out having to take it apart. because part of the checking the balance is to rev it and see where it settles, difficult if the throttle isn't actually attached to the carbs, I feel. :P
As for the choke knob just disconnect it from the carbs leave it in the headstock so it looks like it works. That way it can't do what it is going to do anyway , But if you ain't gonna ride it it wont matter. ;)

Pete

The main restriction in air flow into the engine is the Filter, so take that out and balance them all up to No.3

Like wot Fossie says......

i've always adjusted mine to be the same.... raise the idle to 1500-1600 revs and then balance them the same imo....

and if it starts taking too long to get it right you may wanna turn off and let it cool down before continuing...

There's not a great deal in it. As Suzuki suggest it's the difference of half a ball on their gauges.

And thats sound advice about the engine warming up too much. Do it in 5 minute sessions, with a tea break in between. then after the 4th go. Off to the loo

This is what I have ended up with:

Image

Had a quick blast up the road before school pick up and the bike seems to be a lot smoother. Also not getting any hesitation on pick up. Doesnt seem to be popping from the exhaust on throttle down either, which it was doing before.

Maybe doing the air screws helped as well.

Will go for an longer run tomoz to give it a better shakedown.

What you rekon ? does it look ok ? I tried to do what you suggested, and make thye outside 2 slightly higher.

Hey Pete

That's a big step in the right direction.

If you are happy with how the bike is running then you can leave it at that.

Maybe I'm a bit too particular with these things, but 1 & 4 are low compared with 2 & 3.
Remember we are dealing with vacuum here, so the needles on the gauges need to be further round to indicate a higher vacuum (or Lower Pressure). :geek:

But as Sparki says you can set them all the same and it wont be a kick in the doo dahs out
