cheesed off

Post by bobster » Mon Sep 24, 2012 9:02 pm

:x Just popped 2 of my car tyres and dented one of my alloy wheels going over an unlit traffic island in the torrential rain............half an hour later and anoter car did exactly the same thing. When i went back to look at the island the becon was missing, someone had obviously smashed it off a while back.

Can i claim off the council.

i will be taking photos tomorrow of the offending traffic island.

In Germany it would be that easy:

They'd tell you that you'll always have to drive slowly enough to be able to stop as soon as you notice an obsticle. You did have your lights on, didn't you? :? See?

I have a volvo which has the lights on permenetly...........I just didnt see the traffic island because it was unlit and raining heavily, but there's got to be something wrong if lots of other cars have done the same thing as me!

Don't see why you shouldn't be able to claim. Surely traffic islands must be kept in working order or else they're a hazard? Imagine a bike hitting it.......
With potholes, broken pavements etc you have to take pics to back you up and as there's someone else in the same boat you should complain together. The more claims for the same thing the more likely you'll succeed I think.
