I.D of zorst

Post by wraith » Fri Oct 19, 2012 6:38 pm

I'm trying to find out what zorst I have.
I bort it as a gsx1100 zorst but the headers are too small, the part of the header pipe that gos into the head is apx 38mm and where te zorst bolts to the head the collicks are way to narrow as they wont go onto the studs (will get the center holes size tomorow when its light as well as pics which may help) the down pipe lenth just fits the 1100 but just. I'm thinking it my be GS550/650.
Once I can ID it I will put it up for sale for what I got it for (£70) as its now good for me someone can get the use of a cheep zorst and its not in bad nick ;)

Is it black-chrome 4-2 mate?

Could be a pop-up, they're smaller and narrower. As you say could also be a 550 or a 650. Pics and the part number off the silencer might help.

Sounds like it's from an oil cooled engine. The studs are narrower on these.

Sorry did not get a pic today  you know how it gos.
It's a 4 into1 it has the old style collits (gs gsx) the zorst is in 3 parts down pipes link pipe then end can, I know it dose not fit the gsx750et motor as I've tryed it on a motor I have in the shed.
The end can looks like a Egal end can but it may have been fitted to the rest of the zorst latter in its life :)
I WILL get some pics tomorow

The hole distance on the collits for the zorst studs are 60mm and the dim of the zorst where it gos into the head is 40mm.

So can we say GS550/650 or GSX750 pop up/es?

Cheers all.

Thats motad/neta downpipes mated to either a vance&hines or eagle end can.
.
Fitted a popup eagle system to a GS1000 years ago, the spacings were the same but had to get sleeves made to fit the pipe where it goes into the head as popup ones were too narrow. the collars that bolt up didnt need modifying though as far as i remember.
