Log book advice needed

Just got some large chunks of motorcycle that will one day hopefully become a standardish Kat1000.
Log book came through the other day, but the DVLA has kindly put to many zeros in the frame number bit.
I think it should read GS10X-5***** as that's what's on the frame,but they've put GS100X005*****
Engine number is correct though.
So the question is, how do I go about getting it sorted, has anyone else had this problem?
Or, will I be opening an unpleasant can of worms and best let things be?
Or am I worrying about nothing?
Don't want possible future problems with an over zealous MOT man or VOSA inspector.
Any suggestions or advise gratefully received.

It seems very much luck of the draw with who you get at the DVLA.
I had a frame number wrong on a 400 and I phoned up the DVLA and spoke to a fella who said include a pic and a rubbing of the stamping with a covering letter and the V5 and they'd sort it no problem, which they did. It had obviously been written down wrong when the bike came off the dockside.
However....other people get made to jump thro hoops over changes of any sort so I think it really is luck of the draw. There's no consistancy.

Yeah, I was afraid that might be the case.
I'm tempted to go along to the local DVLA office with a load of photos and try and deal with someone direct.
To me, it's obviously just a typo, but who knows what they'll think.

whilst you still have one (the govt plan to shut every dvla office in the uk except swansea soon) go down to your local dvla, take your docs and any info you have, if you can whilst its still a frame take the frame too, if you actually turn up at their office, most of the local dvla staff will be as helpful as they can be. ive never had bother with them, i think that in a day of issuing tax disks and filling forms, they quite like something a bit different!

My nearest office is Manchester, I think. Could be a bit of a laugh walking in there with a frame in my hand.
Didn't know the local offices were closing so will try and get down there this week. Used to be one in Liverpool, but closed years ago.

There's popups out there with the wrong frame prefix on the logbook, numbers are ok but model code wrong. I can only assume a cockup when first registered, doubt there can be much done about it now, but for an mot you could show an old mot or the logbook, they will only go by the frame number if the other stuff isn't available. when i get my EFE done they look it up by the number plate as the frame numbers powder coated over.

Went to DVLA office today. Unfortunately it was lunch time, so no plans to do that again
Anyway, a very helpful young man agreed it looked like a typo. I took a photo of the frame No with me and explained Suzuki never used the frame prefix GS100X and as per the stamps on the frame, the log book should be GS10X.
He said leave it with him and he'll sort it, but would need to talk to a vehicle inspector, who might want to view the bike/frame.
If he wants to view the complete bike, he's got a long wait
Not the most interesting thread I know, but we'll see what happens and I'll keep you posted.

I had an issue with my pop up having the wrong prefix code as arnica said, I took it to Manchester and he lookedat it and then took the log book away and two days later I got a new V5 with the correct numbers.
Legal ringing!!

I took my stuff to the Manchester DVLA.
Did they post it back to you, or did you have to collect it in person?
