Wiring Diagram - 650

Post by G0FHM » Fri Apr 05, 2013 7:48 pm

Hi Chaps,

Does anyone have a digital copy of the 650 wiring diagram?

I'm currently working from the GS-650G manual, and there are some differences in wire colours, particularly up the headlamp end of things (for example I have 2 pairs of B & B/W wires coming from the clocks with bullet connectors on - according to the diagram I am working from, all connections should be handled by the multiplugs, apart from the fuel guage, which the 650 Kat doesn't have!).

I know, I should have not lost my bit of paper noting what wires joined to what when I took it all apart.....

Anybody?

Thanks,

J

The GZ had a fuel gauge 84 on wards.
The 2 black and white wires are not in he block connectors as they are the panel light wires .

Pete,

Thanks for that link - it's a bit better than the one I was working from!

Fossie,

I thought as much with the 2 pairs!

Almost ready now to do a final double check with the meter, and put the battery on to see if everything works as it should!

Thanks,

J

Well, put the battery on, and no major meltdowns or smoke!! All marker lights & instrument lights are working as they should.

Have an issue with non working indicators though.

The bike had no indicator lamps fitted when we got it, so I've hoooked up the ones we procured, and nothing!

Reading both circuit diagrams, it would appear that one side of the flasher unit is a live feed, and the other (Light blue wire) goes off to the switch. There is no live feed to the flasher unit, according to my meter!

Can somebody please have a look at the diagram to double check for me (extra pair of eyes and all that) The colourful 650GX diagram shows the wrong wire colours to what I have (it shows white & light blue) whereas the GS-650G factory manual diagram shows light blue & orange/green. It's the white or O/G wire (depending on diagram) that I'm interested in... should that be an ignition switched live feed? I think it should be! If it is, I'll run another wire from the fusebox, as there is obviously an issue with the loom somewhere.

Thanks,

J
