dont use modern semi or fully synth, old thick castrol gtx is what they were made to run on, thinner oil just wont hold the oil pressure plunger open! oem plates are ok for anything, but if you want uber grippy wont ever slip clutch plates, get some barnett kevlar, you wont believe how much feel you can get out of a clutch! and barnett springs are stiff enough to cope with big bhp.

I sorted through the best plates from two sets with a vernier, ran 3 heavy duty springs and it was fine after that, had good feel too. After adding a bit more oil the light was only coming on over the top of the mountain, just a flicker. It maybe the oil I used silkonline super four semi synth. Before the next round I'll have the sump off and make sure all is ok, will also put another pressure switch in to try, may also try to get some 750 oil pump gears.
I found an old article/road test saying they had a new one were the light flickered on, maybe it's just the extreme use on track that a road bike will never normally get.

Thought you are racing a 750? Do popups use 1100 oil pump gears?

Re: help ufgent opinions please
i had a flickering oil light on my old kat. i was running some fully synth silkolene oil, mainly cos i got it free. oil light flickered on tickover and also on the overrun when i was dropping down the box. i drained it and went back to mineral oil, castrol gtx, and it never came on again! the oil light on these, is just a plunger held open by the flow of oil. the thinner the oil, then the more likely it is that the switch will not be held open at low engine speeds.
