if it were an aftermarket kit id likely agree.... but this was a suzuki replacement kit so it should have been fine.... just want to get this behind me tbh as i've had a gut full of it... with all the ££ it's cost with parts i should have simply bought a complete something off ebay for a fraction of the cost...

Hi,

Not sure how much you are willing to spend on that master cylinder now after your experiences. But I have used a company called Past Parts in Bury St Edmunds to re-furb the master cylinder on my S1.

Apart from the fact that the sight window for the reservior was opaque and distorted  but still holding fluid, the seal kit I received from Suzuki was not correct and while in the process of fitting it I managed to bu99er it up completely.

Was about to fling it, but thought I have nothing to loose by sending it to them to have look at.

Wasn't super fast, wasn't cheap, but a like new item came back having been powder coated, new sight glass, new seals in a milled out and re-sleeved bore. Each item they overhaul is tested to prove it works before they return it as well.

I'll try and get some photo's posted up, but am at work at the moment.

tbh i've bought something off ebay now... seller tells me all is good bar the paint and that's easy to fix..... not spending another penny on the other one m8 as it's cost a ridiculous amount already and everytime i now look at it it's a matter of time before it gets launched through a window ;)

i should have sent it off to start with but i've never had this much bother from a master cylinder before... always rebuilt them, cleaned, painted and sorted. all usually work as good as new. but this one had other ideas... lol

cheers anyway m8... appreciate the time you took to explain. at least others seem to have issues with them too so maybe it restores my faith in myself a little ;)
