1100 rear dampers
Hi all, I have a problem with my rear dampers, a set of Koni dial arides, they were leaking so in November 2013 I sent them to all bike engineering after they told me they could fix them, I have only just recieved them back, not fixed and dismantled. Does anyone know of a suitable replacement shock that at least looks similar to the originals as all the ones i have viewwd so afr are too thin or all chrome or all black. I am getting a bit frustrated with this as I have been badly let down. Cheers for any help / advice you may have.

Re: 1100 rear dampers
i'd be questioning the place you sent them... that long and they are returned dismantled?...
these are service agents in the uk... http://www.koni.uk.com/home/index.php?o ... Itemid=126" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
OR hagon make a good budget replacement shock imo... http://www.hagon-shocks.co.uk/catalog/p ... no=33016SA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
think they'll do black springs too if asked along with rider weight etc. if i were ordering i'd consider the CB900 shock which has the same fittings either end but is 30 or 35mm longer

Re: 1100 rear dampers
I was under the impression that Konis or Ikons as they became were straightforward to rebuild. Norman Hyde is an agent for Ikon and carries spares.
Seem to remember one of the rags doing a rebuild article on some not that long ago. CMM maybe?
I've got a set that need a refurb, mostly cosmetic, plus needing new bump stop rubbers. Was going to put them on Skruffy Kat but have an alternative now.
I'll try and find them tomorrow and post a picture.

Re: 1100 rear dampers
Hi, yes they are supposed to be easy to rebuild but mine have a broken rod end that caused the seals to blow and Ikon want 160 for a total replacement rod so I am trying to find a local machine shop that can help. as for the company in question, I really wouldn't recommend them to anyone, it was 1 excuse after the other as to why my shocks took so long. Thanks for the other tips though, I am also looking at a set of Bitubo shocks that look possible if a tad expensive.

Cheers Steve.
it was a 50-50-90 guess

I have a NOS set of Girling gas shocks, very period..........
you need to fit your own springs but that is how they came.
