piggyback shocks for 250 kat
piggyback shocks for 250 kat
hi, I recently bought a 250 katana, it came with budget shock absorbers on it, when I asked the dealer who was selling the bike if he knew what happened to the original kayaba piggyback shocks he came back with an ominous looking brown cardboard box that contained what looked like broken pieces of metal, turned out that they were the shocks, he said one of them was leaking so he dismantled them but couldn't obtain the seals as they are a strange size, after doing a bit of research I decided that rather than spend lots of money having these refurbished that there may be some lookalike budget shocks on the net, the only ones I could find that fit the bill are some Chinese ones on e-bad but you have to order them from china! has anybody ordered stuff from the east? did it arrive ok? the feedback from these guys is good but I've been stung before ordering from places I can't pronounce, I know the quality will be iffy but I just want some cheap piggybacks for their looks, ta

Never had problems. Check out the sellers feedback on the item itself if you can. Like you say quality is usually the issue.

Jimmy 400 ordered some of these a while ago, must have got them as the bike has an Mot now.
This has all been within a couple of weeks.

thanks, the seller on e-bad says they will be delivered between 6-8 days! might give them a punt as even including shipping they are about £90, good value as i'm sure the old ones would need at least two hours labour spending on them so that'll be at least 100 notes, if I get drunk and order them i'll let you know how good they are.

Ash bought some for his 1100 and was pleased with them

If you are unlucky I guess you might get hit for import tax plus the collection fee, so consider that. I bought an adjustable Madstad bracket for my V-Strom (USA) and got about £4 tax and £8 to collect it admin fee. Also a Yoshi exhaust for my 1100 Kat years ago cost an extra £60.
Re: piggyback shocks for 250 kat
I know what you mean. there is a disclaimer at the foot of the e-bad listing saying that import duties may have to be paid, since then I've seen some on amazon that are posted from the uk but are more expensive, might go for these instead to save a lot of hassle
