Cool, that makes 4 sets, i've also got another 2 pairs of knackered stantions but i'll have to stick to getting just 1 pair done for me due to costs, i'll try and phone a couple of rechroming places during this week to see if they're interested in giving a discount.

anyone know what would cause my forks to bottom out under braking, recently changed the oil, to the correct levels, dont want to pay out for chroming if they are damaged.

I did overfill them causing a hydraulic lock a few weeks before filling the correctly

not sure, but it was fine before I caused them to lock up, whats worrying me is spending £100+ to get them re-chromed and finding out they are damaged inside

Could be a number of things!

Wrong weight of oil, Wrong amount of oil , tired old springs, rebuilt incorrectly, bits missing from damper/ internals, worn fork bushes, loose damper rod retaining bolt ..............u need to go on a diet! Stop doing endoes or bunny hops !

Theres a few things to try......................sounds a bit like a Yellow pages add............*award winning cumberland sausages*

I can't see how hydraulic lock on forks could damage anything, if anything was going to happen the seals would have blown.. Do you know the grade of oil that was in before ?, it might have been heavier than your using now..

not sure what was in it, what is the correct grade oil? I'll replace it with the correct grade and see if that cures it
