clutch slip.
clutch slip.
I've started to experience slight clutch slip when I give the shark to much throttle. Having never ventured into that section of an engine, I was wondering how difficult it is to rectify, or should I send it of to a professional.

Maybe try mineral oil ? Is your clutch worn do you think? Adjusted correctly?

Re: clutch slip.
John, first thing is to clean cable, ( for those not in the know the shark is an ES so the cable joins sprocket cover like a 550 Kat)
The activate rend gets chain lube on it and draws it up. So although clutch cable is off it sticks just a touch.
While cable is off at that end , There is a plate on sprocket cover take that off , under the is a 10 mm nut and a grub screw, slacken nut turn grub screw until you feel tension then back it off half a turn. Replace cover and refit and adjust cable. This takes up the free play on pushrod, so the cable isn't!as tight on actuator.
After that if it no better, new plates and springs, no real drama.
