650 Front Fork Tool help
I need to strip down some fork legs. From what I can see,Part Number 09940-34567 is the special tool required to hold the fork tube. Outside of bringing one in from the States I cant find one. I have previously made something suitable to strip down a pair of RM Forks (long lost somewhere in the garage) Does anyone have one they can measure the diameters of, so I can try and fabricate something useable?

Re: 650 Front Fork Tool help
Took me while to find it but I have posted that info with a photo and measurements before, as I bought the tool! I did try the broom handle approach first, but no joy for me.

Re: 650 Front Fork Tool help
I just split the forks on my 1100 the week before wusseykat
I used a couple of long extensions with a socket on the end and a long bolt with a short threaded section.
Load the threaded section up with nuts and centre punch the threads on the last nut so it won't turn. Obviously cut any excess threads off so the nut is flush faced. Works well enough to hold whilst you undo the allen bolt.
The bolt and nuts used to hold the damper rod were 12mm.....19mm across the faces. Not sure if the same size is used across the range though.
