Interesting evening

Post by Katman » Sun Apr 24, 2011 8:04 pm

We went to my other halfs Christmas meal last night, yeah i know it was Easter but what with the snow, etc it was the earliest they could hold it.

Sat at a table with 6 other people of which I was the youngest by about 15yrs,

old guy sat next to me clocks the Katana Sword of Water t-shirt and says, is that another form of Karate?

Before I got a chance to answer & put him right

the old lady opposite asked me, "is that how you lost your fingers?"

"Huh?" I said.

"The sword, is that how you lost the fingers?"

"No", I starts to say, when another lady asks,

"Is that the Suzuki Katana?"

A bit taken aback that she would know a Katana, she reveals that she used to work for Heron Suzuki and only moved to Crawley 30 years ago because Heron Suzuki relocated their headquarters here.
Seems she's not ONLY a bike mechanic, she's still an active biker & a possible future customer.

Seems she worked amongst other depts in the spares dept from 80-86, so chances are some of us have probs spoken to her at some time or other.

Turns out that out of 8 people on the table 5 of us were/are into bikes so (for once) I spent an enjoyable evening, talking bikes and not being told to shut up & change the subject....PUKKA 8-) 8-) Almost made missing Mold worthwhile ;)

If the lady in question is anything like me and develops cleptomania when she was in the wharehouse at work, she should have aquired a massive stock of spares by now :D
