Pop up control boxes.

When the project is complete I will move it or copy the bits needed to pop up section , but for now

A chap who was a member ( Prothed ) sold his pop up ...but before we lost him I sent him some old knackered boxes so he could suss a modern way to sort them.
Today I tested the one he sent me back to check. Mucho successio!!

Not much to see because he filled it with a glue type stuff to protect it.
I have asked him if he can do the other as a tutorial listing the relays he used etc

But it can be done.

Yep I know it can be done , but we are hoping for photographs. So dum arses like me can follow it, a schematic drawing stating R1 5 om .....etc means sodd all to someone who majors in ..........nothing really , but a picture of a hand gouging out stuff, and a photo of an actual relay ....well that can be followed.!

The relay-based circuit (not designed by me) that was in my original post is more elegant and reliable than the original Suzuki design or any other electronic one I've seen since.
However, the original Suzuki one is built into its plastic box then filled with liquid epoxy compound which sets rock-hard so it is almost impossible to get it apart without destroying the box and more importantly the multiway electrical connector.
The new parts only cost a few pounds from ebay, but it takes a couple of hours or more to get the original apart.
The one pictured above just has a quick dosh of hot glue inside to stop things rattling about.
I'll do another and post up some photos and instructions.

We really need a "Techincal Documents" section that can contain the good posts (with relevant attachments) people have written, like this (I'm sure prothead did a post with the images in somewhere), the Headlight conversion using the Mazda MR2 KiwiK did (though I think that is lost on the old site), maybe the 630 - 535 chain conversion thing I did (!) etc.
Damian said he was happy for the Workshop manuals and parts lists to become free now as well BTW. I need to contact him and get him to send me the ones I have missing and then make them into searchable PDFs.
I think this section should be addedto by admins but no comments allowed (read only to the masses, to avoid lots of "noise").

I still have one of the two control units I built for Fossie (but not tested as I no longer have the bike). Maybe that could be checked/sold for club funds if he agrees?
