Pattern or genuine?

Are these any good or would you only use genuine Suzuki?
What oil do you recommend for the 1100?
Your thoughts please

I tend to use Hiflo oil filters on the DL650 and 400 Katana now so would probably go for one of those on the 1100 (HiFlo HF133 I think but check).

HiFlo do an airfilter as well:

I guess you need to look at the Suzuki prices to see if the saving is worth it (try the parts checker at Robinsons).

For oil I always used some sort of branded motorcycle semi-synthetic (Shell, Motal, though now I am using Lucas Oil as my local friendly car accessories shop sells it and I like to support them) in all my bikes on the basis that oil is relatively cheap and engines aren't. However I did find the 1100 used to not leak exactly but seep oil from some of the crankcase joints. After some discussion on here about it (in the old forum) pointed out that these bikes were around when only mineral oil was generally available. Someone (Callyboy I think - where is he?) had the same issues with a GS550 Katana and he swapped back to mineral oil and the problem went away. It's hard finding a decent motorcycle mineral oil but I used Rock Oil Gamma in the end from here https://shop.gofullthrottle.co.uk/Rock- ... 40/189.htm - £18-38 plus delivery. Unfortunately I haven't since I swapped over that 1100 has been off the road a lot with carb issues so I haven't done enough miles to test that theory.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I’ve ordered hi-flo oil & air filters, four litres of Rock oil 10-40 Gamma mineral oil ( I’ve always liked Rock oil and they are from my home town 8-) ) and just for the hell of it a magnetic sump plug ;)
The bike is due the head torquing down after the top end rebuild so it’s full service time with valve clearances to do as well.
