I’ve posted before about my problems with the speedo/rev counter unit fitted to my Kat. I’ve spotted this on fleabay:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3067274443
As it’s not too expensive (ie cheap) I thought until I can get the original sorted I might take a chance. Now I’m not brilliant with electrics so do you think it would be reasonably easy to wire this to the bike without making any irreversible changes to the bikes wiring?
Thanks in advance, Paul

Re: Speedo/ rev counter
brand new katana clocks from japan,ok theyre kph, but theyre 180kph so get a kph to mph adaptor and then theyre 180mph clocks. and cheaper than used originals. theyre mis lableled as gsx1400, so i guess nobodys noticed the mistake yet. but theyve not got many left.

or, you can hack your loom about and fit some aftermarket thing that may or may not work......

John, those are 400 katana clocks, they have a temperature light and redline at 12,500 rpm, still cheap if yours are fooked, 255us dollars is 180 quid so not bad for a brand new set of clocks

Re: Speedo/ rev counter
It's hideous ........tell you what if you want to get yours sorted and just need a set of clocks until then.
I have a set you can borrow. They are 750 ones in kph but you can mark the relevant mph if you need to.
Personally I never bother I know 30 is 50 , 40 is 60 50 is 80 100 is 62.5! . Over that ...

Re: Speedo/ rev counter
You will probably get hit for VAT @ around £36 and the £8 admin fee plus the postage from Japan which can be expensive if they decide to send it fast. I think you are looking at nearer £250 total, but for new clocks, that is still cheap I guess. Rev counter needle is a bit iffy on mine and I'm sort of tempted, but there is other motorbike stuff to spend money on first...

Re: Speedo/ rev counter
my thoughts are that they arent likely to bee making any more, so if you buy a new set now, youre never going to be out of pocket. i know theyre 400, and th redline is wrong, but with a mph converter making them 180mph theyre still viable unless youre a super originality fetishist.
