400 Kat clocks?

Post by gregwgsxr » Wed Jan 23, 2019 8:34 pm

So with a 1200 bandit engine in the 400 Kat the clocks wont be up to the task the speedo needle will be bending as i push past 120mph + the question is can it be re-calibrated and have a new face popped on it?
Or has anyone a set of clocks with a better mph range?

An easy answer is the in line cable adapt ears which turn km in mph.
Depends on where the speedo drive will come from, blue for front wheel and gold from gearbox.

yup, kph adaptor makes good sense, 180kph clocks become 180mph clocks and also the rev counter is better considering that the bandit has a higher redline than the stock kat and is closer to the 400 redline.

It will be fine bit of welding jobs a good un, already placed it in the frame it fits.
Can only have one coat of paint on the frame though as its a bit tight!

Yes but who is he still around? Step forward i may have questions!
But i have the 1200 bandit engine now just waiting for a sand blasted frame to come back, then i can start the welding.

Ah he survived then! :) yeh nothing will just fit, all the engine mounting lugs have been cut off ready for new ones, the tank will need to have a chunk taken out of it and probable numerous other little bits. But i may be able to use engine mounts and frame rails off the 1200 Bandit.
All sounds a bit Frankenstein but it should be on the road for summer.
