Bike Down/Fallen: Spares required

OK, so after several weeks of him being busy the guy sorting out a replica Harris exhaust dropped me a photo of my bike on a lift ready for him to start work on it today.

This morning there was an email with some photos of damage as it had 'fallen off' the lift overnight - fortunately the lift was not 'up' at the time my bike broke free.

So superficically it appears that the following are broken : Screen (was a Suzuki one ) , LH Mirror (as rectangular one as it is a German bike), both LHS Indicators (one genuine and one pattern) and there is damage to the Front Fairing. There are probably some other marks on bar ends, possibly lever etc but I cannot assess that easily with photos.

Are there any 'not extortionate' sources of genuine Screen, Mirrors and Indicators? I have looked on Robinsons and some of the prices are scary!

Are there any sources of good as OEM pattern parts for those items that people have experience of?

If anyone has experience of a bike being dropped on the LHS is there anything else, that may not be obvious that could have been damaged - LH handlebar? Fairing Frame? etc.

To be fair, Dave at Exhaust Craft is as gutted as I am about the damage and has offered to build the exhaust for free or fix the damage.

Indicators I'm sure OEM ones will be fine if you are happy - one was OEM anyway so assume so.

The fairing will be the worst. Indicator often punches though it or cracks it. I have found a better price on Suzuki ones (I see you bought one before from post http://www.katanaownersuk.club/forum/vi ... ing#p55928) for about £260 (with the clubs 10% off) if still available - part number in post.

Check no cracks in alternator cover. Lever OK OEM. Not sure about mirror - have seen them on ebay.

Depend if it fell against something. You are only going to know by checking it over. Chance it could bend handlebar, hope the tank is OK.

Years ago a mate had a TDM850 that a local bike shop picked up for him to service which he was away offshore, and when he got back onshore he had a call to come and visit them - it had "jumped" out of the back of their pickup on a roundabout! Needless to say, that wasn't going to polish out.

As an aside how much will the exhausts cost? Will they be made from stainless steel and do they, ahem, retain the centre stand?

I already have a new fairing ready to go on over winter, so, assuming that the frame is OK underneath (and I guess from the damage it should be) then that is OK. The tank looks, from the photos I have, OK.thankfully.

As you say I need to check the rest of the bike over properlyand in the meantime I'll ask for some further photos. And ask him to check that the distance between the Tank and the Bars is the same on Left and Right Lock.

As for the exhaust I am hoping I won't be paying for it! I have asked for retention of the Centre Stand and for it to be a replica. Dave normally builds of larger tubing than the original Harris so has had to set up his machinery specifically for this build, which will be in polished stainless. The original estimate was around £600.

Bike is back home now having been picked up yesterday. The exhaust is OK and Dave had sorted the mirrors and broken indicator with some pattern jobs to get me home however there is some small, but potentially significant, damage to the Speedo surround.

Seems like the surround is not a part available separately?

Anyone any ideas / spares / experience with sorting this sort of damage?

I did find a chap that seems to be able to do miracles with speedo/rev counter restoration (http://www.guagerepairs.com) but would like to to know if there is a quicker DIY fix option available.

It can be sourced separately ,unicorn in Japan do it. But it is a very , very light metal and easily folds back into shape , as it needs to be folded to refit glass etc . Only a light brush with a weak mixture of paint to cover over after.
