Bike Down/Fallen: Spares required
Re: Bike Down/Fallen: Spares required
Be aware that almost everything you order from Japan will come with a lovely customs charge, from past experience it seems that the more you spend the more the charge, ordered a screen for my 250 Kat from these people, they are very friendly and keep in contact with you and even warn about the potential customs charge, luckily the screen was only £15 and even adding the post and customs charge it came to £23 which is a lot less than the so called 'uk' ones on e-bad. just thought it might be of help.

Yup aware of the customs charge, but can't find another option and effectively I am not paying for it following the damage.

Parcel Farce bill for releasing the bits was £44 (Inc. £12 handling charge). Extortionate but what I was expecting.
New needles are VERY orange compared to the 35 years old original ones.
Next decision is to whether to change the speedo face for one with mph rather than kph...... my initial thoughts are to leave as standard as at least there is then no confusion about what units the odometer is in. Any thoughts from others on whether to make the switch?

Leave it kph, ever since I got my 250 Kat it's been fun looking at the speedo and translating the kph into mph, got it off to a fine art now

We've been here before , you can't simply switch the face , it will read incorrectly as the gearing is in km/h
So there you go leave as is ....even I can suss 50=30, 80=50, 100=60 120=70 over that is costly anyway!

Yeah, I'd leave at kph (I have 4 bikes now with kph so am used to converting in my head!)
The speedo MPH faces; If you compare the KPH and MPH clock you will see on the KPH face 240kph is near 12 o'clock. On the MPH clock it is nearer 1 o'clock, so your speedo will read slightly wrong (slower). I have never bothered changing mine as fairly easy to remember the main limits.
