thats not a kat. its a hyabusa engine in a one off frame using hyabuse forks wheels and swingarm, one off electrics and a big turbo, onto all this he has fitted a kat fairing and tank. so, does a fairing and a petrol tank make it a kat?

if its a kat. It must have started life as a kat, so i would expect it to at least have a kat frame and frame number,

spot on russ

I could put a Kat fairing on an AP50 but that wouldn't be a Kat

Steve
But essentially, the frame is the defining part of the bike, as you can see the headstock is from an 1100 Kat frame no: GS110X...so this is a kat then!! All be it not the nicest example, but a Kat none the less

Clutching at straws Jez ;)

Tis a can'o'worms you've opened. When is a kat not a kat etc etc.....

By Russ's definition Taff's bike isn't a kat cos it's a gixxer with kat bodywork nailed on (loose explanation Taff I know it's not that simple :) ).
The GSX1400's (of which there are several lurking out there) with kat bodywork on also fall into the 'no' catagory as well then. BUT if they're kat inspired (did anyone say XN??) then isn't that enough??

As you can see my fence is firmly under my butt :D

Oh and the one in the pics is much uglier than the butt I have firmly positioned on the fence.
TOO MUCH IS NEVER ENOUGH

THE VULTURE WILL STRIKE

Presumed heredity transmission of the Katana genes works dominant, we have to widen our view...
