London bike show

Post by Bob1000 » Mon Feb 17, 2020 7:36 am

Decided to drop in to the London bike show yesterday as the weather wasn't up to doing much else....
Had to chuckle as it seems the biggest draw on the Suzuki stand when I went past was the "proper" Katana (very nice who's ever it is)...
Still a stunning looking bike nearly 40 years on, and still turns the most heads even next to the most up to date kit.
I wonder if the new one will be received the same in 2060, or it will have just faded away?

That was John Martins original 1100 Katana (FBJ on here).
He won best 80's bike for his restored 1000 Katana at Stafford last year.
He's doing up another one for charity (MS) which has just started... (there is a FB page if you do FB).

Was there on Saturday.
John’s bike was looking good between the 2 new Katanas.

Unfortunately even with the “Do Not Sit on This Bike” signs people were climbing all over it.

If it’d be mine there I would have been standing next to it waving a big stick
