Re: Eurokat 9
For me I will be limited on time off as need to get a week family holiday at start of summer school break.flufflonsdale wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 9:25 pmI’m with Cam. Any ideas on departure/ return dates so I can book time off?
Fossie's offer of the stay over at his French gaff, although very tempting and very generous adds an extra day, maybe more for me, plus a longer trip in the UK to the ferry etc.
My plan is midnight Ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe on Wed 12/08 (£67 at present plus cabin space if required), so I can leave after work on Wednesday and get some kip on the ferry for a few hours which gets in I think around 6am. From there to the campsite is about 450 miles, so plan to do about max 300 miles avoiding tolls and motorway (though might do a little bit at some point looking at route) and stop for night, ready for shorter push to EK9 on the Friday and swim
I think those staying at Fossie's are overnighting on the Thursday as well. KeKat's campsite (from other post) is probably just that bit to far for joining them (maybe?). I have attached a map of where 300 miles from Dieppe takes me (little village called Crozant), so maybe if KeKat found something around there, anyone else doing this route could meet up with them and then we all do the Friday together?
With this route on the Friday, I would like to visit Oradour-sur-Glane which is the village left just as it was after a massacre in WWII.
Coming back I have 3 possible options (that would depend if others were coming back this way or not), Sunday do about 250 miles towards Dieppe and then Monday the remainder trying to get the 12:30 Ferry, in the UK at teatime and then blat up to East Anglia or take a bit longer (for stops etc look about) get the 18:00 Ferry and then blat back to East Anglia arriving home early hours of Tuesday. Last option, was if others were coming back and wanted even more leisurely, was overnight in France on Sunday and Monday and get the Tuesday 12:30 ferry.
I have put this to Kryten (and Fred61) for us East Anglians but haven't heard back from him yet - is anyone else interested? I think I need to start getting it booked - March next week...

Fred61 - First EK I went to I was in the naughty corner (though I was on a Suzuki...). Plenty of time
, though you need to get those forks away for rechroming as I think 12 weeks is about the time scale (if you are lucky)!
FYI there is a thread on redoing the Popup light control box, if yours plays up.

Re: Eurokat 9
Big thank you Fossie for the offer.. The headlamp unit is ok and goes up and down on demand but if any one has a circuit diagram for the Pop up it would save me a lot of time reverse engineering the loom. It appears the main beam feed? has been connected to earth (Black and white Wire) on the main loom. However when I first looked at the loom the main loom earth was disconnected but just about everything "worked".fossie wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 9:30 pmFred61.
