Re: Eurokat 9
Cam I think the plan is to leave our gaff ...( le Tay ) on Thursday late morning stay over at this moto camping place KeKat advised about , because of the distance from Mayenne to the EuroKat site and we are essentially on a touring visit to France with mates ....if that makes sense .
We shall formulate an outline plan this week.

Re: Eurokat 9
Fossie - Just mentioning, yours to the EK9 site avoiding tolls and motorways is about 320 miles, so I assume you want to do less miles per day as you wanted to take 2 days to do it. Keith's campsite takes you to the east some way, so you would need to do 280 miles on the Thursday then about 160 on the Friday (440 miles total again avoiding tolls and motorway - longer if using those). I have shown rough route on the attached map (I think that is where your place is).
The East Anglian's could meet up with you the Thurs night but for us that would mean the over night being somewhere in the red circle really (the lower part if possible) as we want to avoid the motorways. I was also hoping to visit the WW2 village memorial ( JohnR was interested as well ) and this puts you on a better route to do that as well on the Friday. No probs if you still like the look of Keith's campsite, we'll still meet up on the Friday, but thought I would mention it.
How are you coming back to your French place on the Sunday - 1 day or taking 2 days for that as well - knowing that would be handy as not sure about my return schedule yet.

Re: Eurokat 9
Hi All
I am up for staying at fossie's place. I will get the same ferry as Sparki.
I have been to Oradour-sur-Glane twice.
I only suggested Route 99, as it caters for campers, and those who don't want to carry camping gear. I will be camping at the Kat rally, so I am easy on where we stay.
I will do what the majority who stop at Fossie's place decide.

Re: Eurokat 9
So we have the makings of a plan
Those staying at club house (LeTay .as in my gaff) leave on the Thursday 13th August heading towards Laval etc...then down to Oradour Sur Glane , ( somewhere I've always been intersted in also) stay over and meet the icceni lot. There must be cheap hotels nearby , it's only a few miles from Limoges.
Then leave for rally site Friday 14th , as its only 2-3 hours from overnight stop we aren't rushed or can visit memorials its if we failed the day before.
The return journey we can suss later along these lines .
So can we get our hotel specialist to look into availability of hotels / formula one are fine for this .
But we could do with numbers now then , looking at t shirt post we have 12 ....but then there may be others

Re: Eurokat 9
Well you shouldn't need to erect a tent at mine, we have a building set aside as a dorm , just put in a new Mezzanine floor and should fit new staircase to it in a few weeks. But we have a few stables as well .
Then the Thursday night should be at a cheap hotel or hostel ..well that's the plan....or you can camp.
If it suits better you can go straight to site from ours , you could stay the extra day and chill if required ... It is just that we are mostly over 50 odd , and on holiday so a stop over with a few mates made the Switzerland trip into a cracking do , so we are using that as a template ..
But as said what suits....

My plan :- over to the clubhouse for a few days of cheese, bread & beer. Leisurely ride through the French countryside, party, leisurely ride back for more cheese, bread and beer. Not going to be chasing anyone.
