250 carbs

Post by fossie » Mon May 09, 2011 10:30 pm

Does anyone out there know the correct standard settings for the 250 ssn.
ie; pilot jet turns out--
which groove is standard on the needle.

the stafford 250 starts fine revs cleanly but when in gear and rolling the revs just build up,No urgency and top speed is low, I suspect carb settings . it has at the moment got the correct CDI as borrowed from Cat.

The fact that the bikes runs fine on tickover leads me to the presumption that there's everything OK with the pilots and the fuel screw. What do you mean with "no urgency"? Is that you're asking for hp and the bike doesn't perform as expected? If so, that's a sign that the carb is on the rich side of settings. Did you take the mid notch for the needle? That'd be my starting point.
Do you witness it getting better or worse when heating up?

Basically it is a free hard disk space on the web, which you can share with people and it is very simple to use.

You just need a small client application on your local machine and you can just simply share file with whom you want as long as you have there email address.

If you have issue with this, let me know I am using it for more than 2 years happily.

This is the address http://www.dropbox.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I think it was a typo on Katman link.

Right then lets assume i don't understand a word about this drop thingy, but I need to know the settings of the 250 carbs as at the top of this thread . Has anyone got the ability to just look it up for me and post here.
Cheers.

The only reference to 250 carbs I can find is on KatanaCentral and it states 1 3/4 turns out for the pilot but only quotes 2nd or 3rd groove from top for the needle.
Hope this helps a bit mate.

I think superfly posted in the wrong thread about the dropbox thing. And no I haven't a clue either (nor do I want to ;) )
