1100 exhausts

Post by tomtom » Fri May 13, 2011 1:37 pm

i have an 1100 with Wiseco 1168 kit and 38mm flatside Mikunis and stainlesss 4 into 1 system.I want to replace the tailcan with a stubby carbon fibre one and was wondering what works best.I get good fuel consumption and dont want to ruin that or for it to be too loud to use everyday. So many to choose from plus twin outlets, oval pipes etc.Help please.Thanks. :D

A can is a can, the internal bore will have an effect on the note of the can, but if it's a straight through type then they pretty much all do the same job. a stubby will be louder than a long one so if it's loud enough now maybe it's not a good idea,

I was thinking more about one with a removable baffle. The previous owner had a Harris pipe on it and said it ran like shit and fuel consumption was way worse. Thanks anyway.

i think that 38mm mikuni carbs werent ever sold for their ability to improve fuel consumption. i think you can have performance or economy, but not both at once!
