I've had my big popup since 1987, i blew it up then fitted the 1135 engine (now that was a project !), after that got it bored to 1229 and so on, this went on for 5 years and then the cam chain snapped wrecking the engine, i got really pissed off with it having put so much into the previous 5 years, i threw it in the back of the garage and forgot about it, a few years later went road racing and sold off lots of bits from it (wish i hadn't now :( ). At no point did i ever contemplate getting rid of the bike.
The last couple of years i've found myself getting inspired again, bought the std popup to restore with the idea of that funding the rebuild on the big-un, trouble is i know i won't want to sell that when it's done.
so after 19 years of it being off the road i'm really inspired again, problem is i don't have enough space to sort things, i do have a plan though, build a workshop (in the pipeline) std popup in for resto with a 1 year deadline, followed by the 1230 again a 1 year deadline and then lastly the EFE in for a refresh.

The point i'm making as others have said is your inspiration may well come back, slot the bikes to one side and see how you feel in time, BUT stay on here cause it'll keep you thinking..

Also try and follow your vision/dream, i could have had my 1230 done years ago just by rebuilding the engine but i wanted usd front, gixer rear, 1327cc, it's made the job alot harder and more expensive and i've have contemplated easier options, but that was always my vision, i've waited this long i might aswell do it right. (with the exception of the 1327 as i think it'll be staying 1230).

H mate, Although this may not inspire you immediately, i hope it gets you thinking and that you keep hold of what you've got ready for when your back into it :)

stick em in the shed, sheet em up, and leave em alone for a bit, they will be there tomorrow, next week, next month, next year. do something else. ive found that if your heart just isnt in it, then you just end up standing in the garage looking at it or sorting spanners and sweeping up. leave em till the urge to do something returns. dont sell em, dont get shut, but get em out of sight, then they dont remind you what you need to do. buy a cheap hack bike to potter round on, it doesnt matter what, in fact the slower the better. ive had more pleasure riding my 50mph 1950's bsa this last few years that i could have ever had riding some soulless plastic missile. enjoy the miles under a set of wheels, any wheels, i even enjoy riding sues 125!! you need to step back a bit, but not walk away.

Do things on your bikes as you want to.
that is the main option at the moment pedda

have loads of stuff that would realise good money (standard frame, efe motor, 1327 motor, 2 x sets of bodywork & tanks, etc etc)

mick (blix) , i know i talked to you earlier and your advice re getting wheels under me is good

ditto johnr (very sage advice)

to everyone else, thank you i hear what you are saying

except fbj, ears not working bud, "NOT SHINEY"

am working on it and it may work,

here's hoping
