Re: seat strap - how to mount?
you're in Austria? they're not needed on the UK but I'd guess different straps were made for different seats :-/

Re: seat strap - how to mount?
as they were made for pillions to hang on to, then do they need to be very tight? i imagine that a pillion would need to get their hands under it.

Re: seat strap - how to mount?
As sparki said , not needed or required for MOT in UK. .
They are loose as standard.

Re: seat strap - how to mount?
They are not loose as standard. I must know because these belts are needed for German TÜV and I always have one kicking about for that purpose.
The belt you have there is too long. Could well be that Suzuki came out with different seat holsters on late (Jap-maket-only-Kats) and that's a belt for these?
Who cares anyway. Too long belt looks shite but doesn't affect funktion or TÜV requirements. Just put it in the basement for the next two years once the scrutineers are done...

Like the regulation size number plates and BS approved exhaust's.....
.......that I'm told some people do. Obviously I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing.

Re: seat strap - how to mount?
I never understood the 'teeny tiny number plate' culture, years ago i was at boxhill in surrey, hundreds of bikes there and suddenly half of them started their bikes up and legged it, a couple of seconds later two coppers walked around the corner and all the bikes that had disappeared had illegal small numberplates on them, maybe to some people its anarchy

There's a new member from New York posted a link to a pic of his bike, and it's got a loose strap too - http://i990.photobucket.com/albums/af30 ... d057d8.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: seat strap - how to mount?

That's just wrong positioned on the rider's seat. It has to be pulled back over the pillion seat until it is tight.SamK wrote:There's a new member from New York posted a link to a pic of his bike, and it's got a loose strap too - http://i990.photobucket.com/albums/af30 ... d057d8.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Re: seat strap - how to mount?
I certainly wouldn't want a pillion using that strap...Pedda wrote:That's just wrong positioned on the rider's seat.
